Management that started as Jack and Jenn Catering, a small business offers food
catering and end-to-end events services is run by a family that simply loves
food and hosting parties. Jack and Jenn is guided by its vision “to be the epitome of
service excellence in the field of food catering” by seizing
every challenge to make a difference for their clients with its mission to
strive and maintain the highest standards in the catering service at an affordable
cost. Jack and Jenn aims to deliver more than what the
customer expect.
Its President, Julie Rabe, set up Jack and
Jenn in 1985 renting out chairs and
tables, a sole proprietorship business. It was when her children came along,
Jacqueline and Jennifer (to whom the business was named) and Brian – that she
decided to add more to her core business. After five years, the business
diversified to include video coverage and editing, performing magicians and
other party amenities – and she did these with the help of her three children,
Her first catering exposure came five years later in 1991, when she was asked
to provide for a small function for 25 guest in Ayala Alabang. But her real
breakthorough came when she prepared a dinner at the Paco Park in Ermita,
Manila during her son’s piano recital. At first, she hired cooks but later she
soon took over the kitchen chores the moment she mastered the intricacies of
cooking, experimenting with all kinds of dishes and early preparation without
spoiling them before reception time, after some time she perfected her craft. Catering
deals with commercial cooking. And can serve up to 2000 guest and has 3 trucks,
2 pickups for delivery, with ample space at the back of her house in
Las Pinas where she prepares the food. Considering quality over quantity, she
accepts only a maximum of three assignments per month as not to sacrifice
service. In running her own business, she liked working for herself than
someone else. It is a one woman operation. It is at a point of transition from
being a sole proprietorship to being a corporation ready to handle more
clients, more events, with the help from his daughters managing the business in
the aspect of Marketing and Operations. It branched out to include other
products and services in its fold namely Venue Searcher, Ask Jenne Events
Management, Bridal Car Rental, Z Photobooth, Videoke, LCD Projector and Screen
Rentals, Sound System, and Joey’s Mobile Bar.
As a family business, Jack &Jenn Catering
hopes to give clients the same care and attention they would get from devoted
members of their family. Underscoring that caring is the true product of their
business. “We love food, we love parties and most of all we love working with
people and making a difference by giving them the best catering service we can
give”. After 28 years in the business, there are no signs that this brisk
business is planning to slow down, the catering business is continuously
growing and evolving. The company has been known to customize catering packages
according to their client’s budgets. Their roster of customers include
companies such as PLDT, ePLDT, Moriroku Philippines, Steniel Manufacturing
Company, Intellectual Property Office, Century Properties, San Miguel Glass
Plant, Honda Philippines (Hadsys), Bentonval Ready Concrete Mix, Katolec,
